You'd think players would be happy! Usually sequels/expansions are too far apart.

It does feel a bit soon to release a sequel, especially considering the original cost upwards of $60 at launch. Part of the uproar, I believe, stems from the fact that this is a multiplayer only game, and that the amount of additional downloadable content to date has been somewhat unimpressive.

Not to mention L4D is the kind of game that takes a tremendous amount of preparation if you want to play it with your close friends. It's not nearly as enjoyable to play with random strangers online.

But this is Valve we're talking about here. They seldom disappoint. They've already said they will continue to support the original game, and that most of the new content and additions to the sequel will work across both games.

Besides, there's a much better game coming out in just five days that will make everyone forget about zombies. It's said to include, and this is unconfirmed, ghosts and the busting of said ghosts.
