Hi guys

We went to see U2 in concert at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales last weekend. An 80,000 seater stadium. They were awesome live, and had an amazing set and light/tv show. Your mum's last (and only) concert was John Denver ..... this was a little different heh.

Here's a few vids of the concert we were at :

Been listening to this the past week. Very unique stuff. Hard to believe it's all being rendered by one person with just a cello and a laptop.

From WNYC's Radiolab:

Zoe Keating is the cellist from our live show, War of the Worlds. She used to play with the band Rasputina and now solos and records music for films, such as horror flick, “The Devil’s Chair” (coming out September 30th) and a PBS documentary on Lincoln’s assassination. Her music process reminded us a bit of ours (looping ...

From the San Francisco Gate.

The house was built by Simon Dale (and family and friends) in 3 months for an estimated 3,000 pounds (or roughly $4,700). It has natural insulation (the refrigerator is kept cool from air coming through the foundation); it's got a wood burner for heating; and it also has solar panels to power the lights, stereo, computers, etc..

I especially enjoy that he unashamedly put high tech gadgetry in the home. Man's got his priorities straight.

Ira Glass hosts an episode of the radio program, in front of a live audience...and records it for those who couldn’t attend to hear. The show is performed onstage by some of our favorite contributors: Dan Savage, Starlee Kine, and Mike Birbiglia tell stories. Plus a very special appearance by Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

Great show. Now if they could just bring it up to Alaska.

Full story @ WWW

This is the scene at a huge book warehouse whose contents are being given away after they were abandoned.

The warehouse, whose lease recently ran out, once contained as many as five million books destined to be sold online.

After the lease expired, the firm running the secondhand book business moved out, leaving it full of books.

Managers of the industrial estate invited people to help themselves so they can free up space at the site.

Built on vision and engineering these handcrafted spheres are suspended like pendants from a web of rope. They occupy a truly unique place in the world while providing a habitat for the un-tamed spirit that exists in us all.
